The Cure To Male Loneliness, And This Week's Other Best Memes, Ranked
Here at Digg, we try our best to cover the most important and confounding memes that come across the timeline. But the web is littered with tons of great memes that never quite hit the mainstream and instead just bounce around the weird corners of Twitter or Reddit. Enter our recurring feature, Memes, Ranked.
This week, we've got jokes about Twitter's shoddy new logo, reactions to Florence Pugh's CGI clothing and suggestions for the cure to male loneliness.
3. Florence Pugh's CGI dress in 'Oppenheimer'
The Meme
A rather unfortunate trade-off many filmmakers have to make when their work hits the big screen in India is not knowing exactly how the country's censor board (which leans conservative like the national government) will butcher it. This includes things like stamping a "smoking kills" warning every time there is smoke (be it from a bomb, car exhaust or actual cigarette) and the CGI dresses edited onto actors appearing nude.
That's right. Florence Pugh's character in "Oppenheimer" was clothed in a CGI dress in the film, presumably to turn its rating from adult to kid-friendly? Either way this preposterous move yielded some ridiculously funny memes.

2. Twitter's new logo
The meme
It's official… sort of. Elon Musk announced this week that he was rebranding Twitter to just the letter X, and changed the logo but not the name, or the URL. Why did he do this? Well, it has something to do with his plan to create X, "the everything app."
While he’s begun the process of converting some of old Twitter over to "X," most of the site still uses phrases like "tweets" — probably because they couldn’t replace those with "xeet" or whatever inane nonsense he had come up with.
This is truly the most painful, exhausting year in the history of us all collectively being on Twitter because no one has come up with a better alternative or replacement yet. Where are the Blue Sky invites when you need them?

1. The cure to male loneliness
The Meme
On July 19, the New York Times published an opinion article titled "Is the Cure to Male Loneliness Out on the Pickleball Court?", accompanied by a painting of a man crying and watching a group of men play pickleball in the distance.
The template was quickly exploited by people suggesting other activities, like retaking Constantinople or forming a robot army, that could save society's lonely men.
