The Princess of Wales, and presumed future Queen of the United Kingdom, hasn't been seen in public for weeks. People are getting weird about it.

Back in mid-January, the royal industrial complex posted that Kate Middleton had some planned abdominal surgery that would require upwards of two weeks of recovery in the hospital. After major surgery, it's fairly reasonable that someone wouldn't want to make a public outing for a long while — especially someone who receives so much public attention on every single aspect of her appearance.

Sadly, that very simple explanation hasn't prevented the internet from doing what it does best: Getting weird about it. From rumors of secret plastic surgery to unhinged connections with the failed Willy Wonka event, here are some of the Princess Kate takes and memes that people can't help but participate in.
